Interdisciplinary Studio – Workspace

Available Times:

Monday through Thursday – 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday – 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Located on the 2nd floor, the Interdisciplinary Studio provides ample workspaces for students and faculty to meet for a multitude of purposes: interdisciplinary projects, class work, student groups, creative activities and ventures, planning sessions, reviews and meetings. Featuring eight tall, movable tables, these workspaces can be reserved online, or at the Depot information desk. Tables are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

Departments, faculty and students in the School of the Arts will not be charged for an existing class in need of additional space for projects or presentations. There is also no charge for faculty or staff to have casual meetings in the Interdisciplinary Studio. Please feel free to meet at the tall tables for a snack and a chat, and be sure to stop by Alchemy Coffee on your way to the studio. We look forward to seeing you!

Interdisciplinary Studio for Special Events:

The Depot is a fantastic venue to host everything from lectures and presentations in the Interdisciplinary Studio to elaborate, multi-space special events.

The Depot is available for reservation by VCUarts, VCU Schools,  Departments and programs and off campus groups, both nonprofit and commercial entities.  The Depot is available on Friday and Saturday evenings for reservation in addition to the Depot’s normal operating schedule.

Additional Reserve-able Spaces:


The classroom spaces at the Depot are dedicated to the Entrepreneurial Studies program and VCUarts technology based coursework. However, the classroom spaces, when not dedicated to ongoing classes, are available to reserve.

Conference Room

Located on the 2nd floor of the Depot, the conference room seats 10 people and features a floor to ceiling glass wall that lets in lots of light. The conference room is equipped with a Mac mini and a Sharp LED TV with webcam, among other technologies.
