As Director of Exhibitions for the Depot Gallery, Andrea Alvarez curates exhibitions of undergraduate student work, oversees the installation of these and other exhibitions sponsored by VCUarts, and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the gallery. Andrea is a PhD student on the Art History Curatorial track in the Department of Art History at VCUarts. In that capacity, she specializes in postwar American art, with a special interest in the intersection between modernism and philosophy. Previously, Andrea taught Art History at VCU, interned at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and managed a small art school in Midlothian. Her education includes an MA degree from VCU and a BA degree from The College of William and Mary.
